EARLY HEAD START CAREGIVER

DESCRIPTION:

Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council Incorporated is seeking Caregivers to work in our Early Head Start Program. Individuals interested in the position must be able to establish a safe and healthy environment based on an approved curriculum and daily schedule for infants and toddlers ages 0 to 2yrs. Responsible for observing, assessing, and recording behavior of all infants and toddlers assigned to classroom, maintaining all necessary records, conduct developmental screenings of infants and toddlers, and provide parents with information concerning developmental milestones. This is a full-time. Must undergo background checks, drug screening, TB screening and physical prior to employment.

INTERESTED APPLICANTS:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent form an accredited institution.
  • Must have a CDA Childhood Development Associate for Infants and Toddlers or higher education technical certificate, technical diploma, AA in Early Childhood Education, Infant and Toddler specialist etc.
  • Must have paid experience working with infants and toddlers.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with Management, co-workers and parents.
  • Ability to operate computer system to enter program required data.
  • Must have an acceptable MVR 7yr, valid GA Driver’s License and reliable transportation to conduct home visits.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.

HEAD START BUS DRIVER

DESCRIPTION:

Macon-Bibb County EOC, Inc Head Start is seeking candidates with Passenger and School Bus endorsed Commercial Driver License CDL. Candidates must have a good Motor Vehicle Records. Must undergo background checks, drug screening, TB screening and physical prior to employment. Duties include transporting Head Start students ages 3 to 4 years in buses to and from schools throughout Macon, field trips to various areas and delivering meals to satellite Head Start locations. There are full time and part time positions.

  • with P & S Endorsement

HEAD START DIRECTOR

DESCRIPTION:

The Head Start/Early Head Start Director is responsible for coordinating and directing all programs and administrative services for the Agency’s Head Start/Early Head Start program. Duties include but are not limited to supervision and management of all leadership staff, overall supervision and guidance of all program operations and ensuring compliance with all Head Start Performance Standards and Regulations. This is a full time position.

INTERESTED APPLICANTS:

  • EDUCATION:
  • • Master’s degree in Business or Public Administration with major coursework in ECE or Elementary Education OR Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education with major coursework in business organization and management OR a Master’s degree in a field related to the knowledge and abilities requirements of this classification, from an institution of higher learning accredited by a regional accrediting organization.
  • EXPERIENCE:
  • • Ten years of administrative management experience in a large public or private nonprofit educational organization, preferably in Early Childhood Education, including four years of management experience with primary responsibilities for budgeting, contract oversight, monitoring program performance, facilities, personnel administration and project management.
  • • Prior Head Start experience at a management level highly preferred.
  • • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to interact professionally with the Board, Executive Director, co-workers, employees and parents.
  • • Intermediate computer skills to operate Head Start/Early Head Start databases, produce reports, draft letters and emails and other useful correspondence.
  • ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • • Must have an acceptable driving record, valid driver’s license and reliable daily transportation.
  • • Must undergo background checks, drug screening, TB screening and physical prior to employment.

CASE MANAGER

DESCRIPTION:

Macon-Bibb County EOC, Inc. is seeking a conscientious individual to work as a Case Manager at our Outreach Services Center. This position is responsible for assisting the Community Services Manager with various program grants and funding sources as well as handling the day-to-day management of outreach clients to include client assessments, problem resolution and transitional housing visits. This is a full-time position and you must be willing to work flexible hours. Must undergo background checks and drug screening prior to employment.

INTERESTED APPLICANTS:

  • • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Human Services, Public Administration or related field from an accredited institution.
  • • Two years experience in the case management field, preferably with adults and families with extensive knowledge of case management practices and principles.
  • • Physical mobility to assist clients in relocating into or out of transitional housing and inspects transitional houses to ensure housing units are maintained in a safe and sanitary standard.
  • • Experience working with and writing grants a plus.
  • • Considerable knowledge of community based programs to utilize as a referral source.
  • • Develop and maintain an on-going work relationship with other agencies and community partners.
  • • Meet and deal tactfully with the general public, management, employees and clients from all socio-economic backgrounds.
  • • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to plan and conduct workshops, trainings, presentations and produce reports as needed for Management.
  • • Proficient computer skills to include manipulation of information management systems for research and documentation, use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • • Understanding of and implementation of Federal Grant programs, rules and regulations.
  • • Must have a valid GA Driver’s License with daily reliable transportation, insurance, acceptable driving record, and be willing to use personal vehicle for home inspections and transporting of clients.

CHILD DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

DESCRIPTION:

Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council Incorporated is seeking a competent individual to work in our Head Start/Early Head Start Program as a Child Development Specialist. Duties include but not limited to staff/parent development and training as it pertains to implementing a program of instruction directed towards pre-school education as well as coordination of transition activities for Head Start children and families into the public school system. You will also be a Mentor Coach to all teaching staff coordinating and monitoring program services, and presenting reports to Management staff and collaborative partners. Must undergo TB testing, physical, drug screening and criminal background search prior to hire.

  • Must have Bachelors Degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, or a closely related field and two years experience working with relevant social service within early childhood education at the pre-kindergarten level or youth based organization.
  • Provide training and/or workshops as a Mentor Coach for staff development, technical assistance and training as it relates to Early Childhood Education and Transition services.
  • Provide Head Start/Early Head Start teachers with proper methodology, techniques and appropriate use of materials and resources for an effective curriculum.
  • Assist with development of Early Childhood and Transitional Program plans in collaboration with the Head Start Standards.
  • Must monitor and document classroom performance as it relates to Individualized Education Plan (IEP), attendance and performance of teaching staff and educational service objections related to Head Start/Early Head Start performance standards.
  • Understanding of and implement Head Start/Early Head Start programs, rules and regulations.
  • Proficient computer skills and capability to learn Agency specific databases including Microsoft Excel to create and manipulate spread sheets, create formulas etc. and Microsoft Word to create reports, memos, agendas etc.
  • Effectively supervise others by giving directives and feedback on services rendered. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with Directors, other Managers, employees and collaborative partners.
  • Must have daily reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR

EARLY CHILDHOOD MANAGER

DESCRIPTION:

Will also provide supervision & training to the Early Childhood Development Division (ECDHS) and have ongoing monitoring of the Head Start/Early Head Start classrooms.
