HEAD START TEACHER

DESCRIPTION:

Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council Incorporated is seeking Teachers to work in our Head Start Program In Bibb and Monroe County. Duties include development and implementation of weekly lesson plans, Individual Education Plans for each child, and the setup and organization of a neat and orderly classroom. Responsible for observing, assessing, and recording behavior of all children assigned to classroom, maintaining all necessary records, making home visits, and work in partnership with Teacher Assistants and classroom volunteers. This is a full-time position. Must undergo background checks, drug screening, TB screening and physical prior to employment.

EARLY HEAD START CAREGIVER

DESCRIPTION:

Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council Incorporated is seeking Caregivers to work in our Early Head Start Program. Individuals interested in the position must be able to establish a safe and healthy environment based on an approved curriculum and daily schedule for infants and toddlers ages 0 to 2yrs. Responsible for observing, assessing, and recording behavior of all infants and toddlers assigned to classroom, maintaining all necessary records, conduct developmental screenings of infants and toddlers, and provide parents with information concerning developmental milestones. This is a full-time. Must undergo background checks, drug screening, TB screening and physical prior to employment.

HEAD START BUS MONITOR

DESCRIPTION:

BUS MONITOR Part-Time Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council Incorporated is seeking Bus Monitors to work in our Head Start Program. Responsible for monitoring Head Start children ages 3 to 5 yrs old being transported by bus to and from schools in Macon and Forsyth to enable drivers to operate without distraction. Bus Monitors assist children on and off the bus and direct them to their proper classroom upon arrival at the Head Start Center. Must undergo background checks, drug screening, TB screening and physical prior to employment.

HEAD START UTILITY PERSON

DESCRIPTION:

UTILITY/CUSTODIAN Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council Incorporated is seeking a Utility Person to work in our Head Start Program. Assist in the facilities maintenance of Head Start Centers providing services for children age 3 to 4 year old in Macon and Forsyth. Duties include cleaning inside and outside of buildings, assembling and moving equipment, making minor repairs and assisting in inventory control and accounting. This is a full time position. HEAD START BUS DRIVER

DESCRIPTION:

BUS DRIVER Macon-Bibb County EOC, Inc Head Start is seeking candidates with Passenger and School Bus endorsed Commercial Driver License CDL. Candidates must have a good Motor Vehicle Records. Must undergo background checks, drug screening, TB screening and physical prior to employment. Duties include transporting Head Start students ages 3 to 4 years in buses to and from schools throughout Macon, field trips to various areas and delivering meals to satellite Head Start locations. There are full time and part time position.

Duties include but not limited to ensuring classroom curriculum and technical assistance are being met according to Head Start performance standards. Will also provide supervision & training to the Early Childhood Development Division ECDHS and have ongoing monitoring of the Head Start/Early Head Start classrooms. Must undergo TB testing, physical, drug screening and criminal background search prior to hire.

CHILD DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

DESCRIPTION:

Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council Incorporated is seeking a competent individual to work in our Head Start/Early Head Start Program as a Child Development Specialist. Duties include but not limited to staff/parent development and training as it pertains to implementing a program of instruction directed towards pre-school education as well as coordination of transition activities for Head Start children and families into the public school system. You will also be a Mentor Coach to all teaching staff coordinating and monitoring program services, and presenting reports to Management staff and collaborative partners. Must undergo TB testing, physical, drug screening and criminal background search prior to hire.

HEAD START CENTER MANAGER

DESCRIPTION:

Macon Bibb County EOC, Inc Head Start program is seeking a qualified individual to work as a Head Start Center Supervisor. Incumbent will assume the responsibility for the daily operations of the Head Start/Early Head Start Program at his/her designed Center to meet the requirements of the Head Start Performance Standards in all component areas. You will be responsible for monitoring the daily activities of the center staff, center activities and the files of teaching staff and family advocates housed at our location. You will be required to produce computer generated reports and assess and coordinate the training needs of the staff. Incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Policy and Operations Manager. Must undergo background checks, drug screening, TB screening and physical prior to employment.

HEAD START DIRECTOR

DESCRIPTION:

The Head Start/Early Head Start Director is responsible for coordinating and directing all programs and administrative services for the Agency’s Head Start/Early Head Start program. Duties include but are not limited to supervision and management of all leadership staff, overall supervision and guidance of all program operations and ensuring compliance with all Head Start Performance Standards and Regulations. This is a full time position.

  • • Master’s degree in Business or Public Administration with major coursework in ECE or Elementary Education OR Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education with major coursework in business organization and management OR a Master’s degree in a field related to the knowledge and abilities requirements of this classification, from an institution of higher learning accredited by a regional accrediting organization.
  • EXPERIENCE:
  • • Ten years of administrative management experience in a large public or private nonprofit educational organization, preferably in Early Childhood Education, including four years of management experience with primary responsibilities for budgeting, contract oversight, monitoring program performance, facilities, personnel administration and project management.
  • • Prior Head Start experience at a management level highly preferred.
  • • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to interact professionally with the Board, Executive Director, co-workers, employees and parents.
  • • Intermediate computer skills to operate Head Start/Early Head Start databases, produce reports, draft letters and emails and other useful correspondence.
