POSITION: EARLY HEAD START NURSE

DESCRIPTION:
Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council Incorporated is seeking a competent individual to work in our Early Head Start Program as a Nurse/Prenatal Specialist. This position is responsible for providing high quality medical/dental services to the infants, toddlers (0-2yrs) expectant mothers and their families enrolled in the Early Head Start Program. The incumbent will coordinate appointment schedules, maintain accurate and confidential records, establish treatment plans with doctors and dentist, consult with health professionals to make referrals and following examinations, monitoring centers and acts as a liason with community, public and private health agencies. Must undergo a background check, drug screening, TB testing and pre-employment physical prior to hire.

INTERESTED APPLICANTS:
Must be a Registered Nurse or Licensed Nurse from an accredited four-year institution.

Two (2) years of related experience, preferably with expectant mothers, infants and toddlers.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, write reports and procedure manuals, and effectively present information to internal clients and the general public.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts as they relate to common medical practices.

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, must be able to create spread sheets, manipulate existing spread sheets, create formulas etc.

Proficient experience using Microsoft Word for memos, reports etc.

Must have an acceptable MVR (7yr), valid GA Driver’s License and reliable transportation to conduct home visits.

SALARY/WAGES: Annualized Salary: $25,000
