The Macon Water Authority proudly supports customers in need through its nonprofit partner, the Macon Water Alliance.
As the Authority’s charitable arm, the Macon Water Alliance funds programs that address essential needs, including access to safe and reliable water. Rather than providing direct financial assistance, the Alliance works with trusted community partners, such as the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) and the Economic Opportunity Council (EOC), that have established processes to verify eligibility and distribute aid effectively.
DFCS reviews applications and determines eligibility, while EOC provides direct assistance to households facing financial hardship. Together, these organizations help ensure support reaches the customers who need it most.
Through this collaborative approach, the Macon Water Authority and the Macon Water Alliance extend their impact beyond water service, strengthening the community and providing meaningful relief to families during challenging times.
Customers in need of water bill assistance are encouraged to contact DFCS or EOC at 478-738-3240 to learn more about available programs and eligibility requirements.
